The Canadian artist had teased the song during his Fear of Missing Out stream back in September, giving fans a preview before the official drop. Rolling Stone Canada reported the film version included a video shot at Canada’s Wonderland, which placed the track inside an amusement-park backdrop.

The lyrics focus on a connection that’s falling apart. The chorus asks for another chance, while verses blend pleading with anger over stubborn pride and old habits that keep repeating themselves. Don Toliver picks up the same struggle in his section, describing loneliness and confusion about who’s really at fault.

Yebba’s presence continues a bond she has built with the Toronto rapper over time, stretching back through previous work that includes “Yebba’s Heartbreak” and the PARTYNEXTDOOR collaboration “DIE TRYING,” so this isn’t their first time working together.

The track arrived as part of a deluxe edition of Habibti, which was one of three surprise albums the 6 God put out in 2026. He had dropped his Iceman album back in May, along with Maid of Honour and Habibti.

“Cold Shoulder” joined three other cuts. “Solar Eclipse,” “Quebec,” and “Classic PT2” filled out the expansion. Don Toliver shows up on “Solar Eclipse” with the OVO artist as well. Yebba handles the intro and chorus. The two rappers split verses.
