The search continued as Annika wandered into a junk yard. What she was looking for-she wasnít even sure herself. It had been a challenging year. Faced with many changes and obstacles, she just couldn’t seem to get it right. There was always one more person offering advice and suggestions. Do this; don’t do that. Go here, not there. Be this, not that. One more person to please. But never herself. The pressure was sometimes unbearable.

So she left the party to get some fresh air. Before she knew it, she had walked quite a distance. Sometimes she felt as if she was in a dream. Watching someone else play the role of Annika. That feeling of being disconnected could be suffocating at times but yet freeing at other times. To be able to watch your own life being played out was exciting yet scary because you couldnít control what happened next. She often tried to reach into that dream to move things around, but it never worked. It just created more frustration. So here she was, once again, trying to escape the reality her life had become when she wandered into the junkyard.

Amongst the debris and rusted cars, haunted by the ghosts who walk there, she was hoping she would find it. She searched high and low, left and right; in the rusty tow truck, on top of a rotted tire. She searched in every mirror she came across, searched into the depth of her own soul, but still it eluded her.
