Released on August 7 and distributed by VP Records, Stand On Business is produced by King Jammy and brings Sean Paul’s unmistakable delivery to the legendary Sleng Teng rhythm, one of the most influential in reggae and dancehall history.
The official video now gives the collaboration a visual treatment, connecting an important piece of dancehall’s history with one of the genre’s most globally recognised artistes.
The Sleng Teng rhythm helped usher in the digital dancehall era after its emergence in 1985. Dancehall artistes had rushed to record on the up-tempo beat, notably Tenor Saw (Pumpkin Belly), Johnny Osbourne (Buddy Bye), John Wayne (What The Police Can Do), and Anthony Red Rose (Under Mi Fat Thing).
