Director James Cameron thinks that the visuals that are being created on the set of Avatar 2 are awesome, but he isn't patting himself on the back.
Avatar 2 is an upcoming 2020 American epic science fiction film directed, produced, and co-written by James Cameron, and the first of four planned sequels to his film Avatar.
In 1986, James Cameron's Aliens proved that there was life in the Alien concept beyond Ridley Scott's first movie. But thirty years later, Cameron isn't convinced that the series should have continued beyond that point.
While the Terminator franchise has taken a hit in recent iterations, the first two films are truly sci-fi classics.
In 2009, Cameron broke box office records with his debut of “Avatar,” the film that wowed audiences with its incredible imagery and realistic looking CGI. Even today, “Avatar” holds a high standard that other movies just can’t seem to match up to. It only took a year before talks of a sequel started to brew and Cameron revealed he’d be interested in making “Avatar” into a complete saga that would include three more installments totaling to four movies.
James Cameron has come to be known as one of the best writers and directors within film history. With “The Terminator” back in 1984 being Cameron’s second film he’s ever directed, he proved early on that he knew what he was doing.
"Avatar 2," the much awaited sequel to the 2009 "Avatar" movie, will not be released in 2016 as originally announced and will be delayed to 2017. James Cameron, the film's creator and director, made the announcement last Jan. 14 at an event in Wellington, New Zealand.
