Solis Magazine Music Showcase: SKIP A BEAT

S.A.B SKIP A BEAT hails from Queens, New York. Born Peter Lawrence White, on March 6, 1984, in New Jersey, he moved with his mother to Queens at the age of 3.

His time in Queens provided a unique source of inspiration in the form of 2Pac, Nas, Queen Latifah, Mobb Deep, and Mr. Cheeks. He thrived on his new-found independence and taught himself how to market his own music without the financial backing of major labels.

In August 2005 his first single ”Never Dance” was produced by PowerHouse ENT. 3 years later a 12 song mixtape “8’8’oh 8” followed featuring Fidel CashDoe, Simez Twins, and THE FLIP FAMILY.

Fresh inspiration produced a 9 song Mixtape “The First Coming” in 2010 featuring Ron P, Dukes, and THE FLIP FAMILY. “Ready for Distribution” soon followed and S.A.B stayed true to his authentic roots by creating a mixtape that spoke to where he comes from as an artist.

An 8 song mixtape “The Re-Distribution” soon followed which included his ever-popular debut single “Never Dance” as a ‘thank you’ to the fans who’d believed in him from day one.

With a unique approach to music, and collaborations with Mr. Cheeks, Siah Meez, Tmack The Artist, and many others, S.A.B SKIP A BEAT is firmly established in the underground market. His music is on all digital platforms he thrives when performing live.

A true hip-hop artist and performer S.A.B SKIP A BEAT is at home recording his own tracks as he is ghostwriting lyrics across other genres.
