jJ is a 23 yr old emcee/producer from the east end of Toronto, Malvern. After his mom allowed him to use her brand new iPod nano & he heard Jay-z’s Black Album, his love for hip-hop & its culture began. With his Jamaican roots & roots to Memphis, he was immersed in many sounds. After hearing Kid Cudi for the first time he understood that he can also tell his story & not feel like he needed to be a drug dealer or some braggadocios artist if he wanted to become an artist himself. He was always into Japanese culture like manga & j pop/rock which blended into his sound as he started making music. @ 16 he started really recording & since then been striving to be a prominent voice in the culture with his team Wrong Crowd who aims to change perception and aim in the right direction.
