These gowns were used for this project because they portrayed our Summer Blossoms concept perfectly. Each garment is uniquely designed and handmade with a matching headpiece to compliment each other. My inspiration for them was Frida Kahlo, she was a strong woman with many talents. I think that these looks give us not just a taste of beautiful blooming flowers, love, and dreamy feelings, but also of strong women who aren’t afraid to be unique. Flowers are not the only thing blooming this Summer, women are too and it’s beautiful! Here are descriptions of each look.
Naomi: Plum velvet, mermaid gown with a beautiful open back. Accented with sequined lace to create an hourglass figure. Perla: Ultimate stretch white evening gown with a plunging open back and long sleeves, which are embellished with pearls. Rosaline: Vibrant floral gown, with a flared silhouette and halter top, featuring a high slit and open back. Camilla: White satin cocktail dress, featuring a laced back and accented with beautiful flowers and rhinestones on the sides. Isabella: White silk fitted gown with a see through open back accented with covered buttons, featuring an organza overskirt embellished with beautiful flowers and rhinestones to create a waterfall effect. Victoria: Stretch satin strapless gown, embellished with intricate gold appliques; featuring a rose and gold brocade cape. The makeup theme for Summer Blossoms was to be light, airy and fresh. Using mainly coral, peach and rose tones on the eyes, cheeks, and lips for a monochromatic look. We went with this color theme to accent those shades that can be found in the gowns themselves. Kept the skin barely covered with light concealer and tons of highlight to give a dewy radiant complexion. A light coating of mascara on the eyes, and a wash of clear lip gloss for a natural effect. Jewelry accessories were provided by Glitter Trunk Jewelry. And hair styling was skillfully done by Karissa Nelms.
I hope you enjoyed this summer editorial. And continue to bloom!
