Ballerina gone punk, 80s inspired pop singer LEXXE releases the official music video for her debut single “Runnin’ Wild” – a high energy visual back-dropping the singer’s first formal introduction.
It’s not everyday a classically trained ballerina sets out to be a punk styled, 80s inspired pop singer. With artistic authenticity oozing out of everything she does, LEXXE is a breath of fresh air with a raw story to tell and refreshingly upbeat music to share.
After graduating from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, Alexis Lucena set out to make her mark in the arts. However, countless auditions and frustrating feedback led her to discover a different dream. After a series of events including time on tour with a local band, Alexis quickly realized dance was not her calling, but rather – music. Thus, Alexis Lucena became LEXXE and set out to make and share her own music. Diving right in, she linked up with producer SINDRUM and began writing nonstop. Classically trained in the French horn and a prolific poet, the music came naturally to LEXXE. The project’s debut single “Runnin’ Wild,” written by LEXXE, tells the story of the inspiration she found in the city lights to go chase the dream she had been hiding away for so long.
With the release of the song, LEXXE shares a heartfelt letter beautifully describing her journey.
