Rachelle Willnus’ inspiration for this shoot came from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Something about the elves of Middle Earth is both alluring and powerful. She wanted to create something equally as powerful through art and photography. A powerful woman, a goddess, a protector — As women, we often wish to be that or to be nurtured by that.

Rachelle Willnus designed and created the headpieces in this shoot and the dress. The pink sinamay flower piece in this editorial is currently featured in the Detroit Historical Museum in the FASHION D.FINED Exhibit – Past, Present, and Future of Detroit Fashion. Rachelle’s creations are her own original designs and no two pieces are ever the same.
