Emma-Jane photography has worked with Nina Naustdal over the past two campaigns for London Fashion Week. This year we took the campaign up a notch by working with children, animal’s and a very cold location in February to create the campaign shots for the equestrian themed shoot. With having a days shoot to fit in campaign looks and the lookbook images back at Nina’s showroom, the looks had to be within time frame and to also not allow the model to get too cold.

Overall it was to create that glamorous, equestrian feel shoot. Something aristocratic, but with a soft edge, with the interaction of the children and horses to create the connections. I adore shooting with animals, as having lots of things going on in the shoot can let the viewer get captured. Having lots of moving parts in a shoot can be lie conducting and orcastra- you need to know where each piece fits.

Nina Naustdal is more than just a fashion brand; it is a luxury lifestyle brand with Nina winning London Fashion Retailer of the Year 2013 at the London Lifestyle Awards and was runner up for the award again in 2014. Nina’s aim is to compliment each woman’s body perfectly through her feminine, glamorous and unique designs. It is this idea that epitomizes Nina Naustdal’s new Couture, Gold and Childrenswear collections – the idea that ‘Normal Is Boring’.

Nina Naustdal who was born in Oslo, Norway, fell in love with fashion and design from a very early age, furthering her passion by studying at the Esmod School of Fashion and Design in Oslo. Having moved to the UK, Nina launched her own eponymous brand back in May 2011 by opening her first boutique on Walton Street, since then the brand has grown and moved to a private showroom in the heart of Chelsea, London in order to provide a more personal service for clients. The exquisite garments featured have been handmade in Nina Naustdal’s London Atelier to ensure the highest quality at every stage of production.

This season the Nina Naustdal Couture Collection focuses wholly on the beauty and elegance of the female form: taking inspiration from the empowered modern woman. Exquisite laces in contrasting colours and softly sheer panels feature throughout the collection, complimented by delicate detailing using Swarovski Crystals and hand applied appliques. The six unique dresses have been crafted by Nina’s highly skilled London atelier team using only the finest handmade laces and silks sourced from around the world, resulting in breath-taking gowns guaranteed to accentuate all that is beautiful and feminine.

The Nina Naustdal Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection draws on an equestrian theme, taking inspiration from the luxury and style of a quintessentially English past time. With form fitting trousers and flattering jackets in a selection of modern tweeds and plaids, the collection embraces the English Countryside lifestyle, bringing high-quality style to the everyday wardrobe. The Children’s Gold collection features an array of ready-to-wear pieces in soft, contemporary tweeds and plaids. This modern collection brings together style coupled with the highest quality fabrics, creating a selection of garments perfect for every child.

With the backdrop of a stately home’s stables evoking aristocratic glamour, the setting for this beautiful shoot brought together aspects from each collection, allowing a coherent story-line to run between Couture, Gold and Children’s-wear.
