If you’re a fan of Jacob Lee, Eden, and Flume, you’re going to fawn over Sam Sun. SAM SUN, a Brit-Nigerian pop artist and songwriter known for channeling his love for all aspects of life through genre-bending music and mixing of styles.
Coming from the humble background of performing and producing cover versions of hit tracks from 2015 – 2016, SAM made a huge impact! His version of Major Lazer’s Cold Water cover landed on “Best Cover Songs 2016”. SAM decided to break out as an original act 2017, following his first original release, “Save Me” which was phenomenal! Gaining attractions nationally, as the single received massive airplay which led to him being nominated for Best hip-hop Single at the Top Naija Music Awards and internationally, for Most Popular Pop Artist at the South Australian Music Awards 2017, not forgetting his single Save Me appeared on the Indie music chart Top 30 at #25
SAM ushers in a new dimension to his music! Interestingly, SAM dishes out a new hippie-like single full of emotion inspired by Justin Bieber and Illenium! “I Want U” is a unique track, fusing both pop and future bass into one golden piece. The soft cool vocals on the pre-chorus and chorus speak life into the track giving his audience, two to three reasons to fall in love with the song.
The music video portrays the message in the song at its best, the black cat wandering form different sceneries appears to be lost but all its seeking is to find its way home and by home; “the heart of his lover.
Revealing a sage depth of understanding about love and life, Sam explains the song;
“It’s been a tough ride getting here but I’m going to put my best into action! Crossing music genres and making a much bigger impact is simply amazing and I’ll love to do more of this. ‘I Want U’ is a magical piece inspired by Illenium and Justin Bieber. I wrote the song in correspondence to my feelings at that present time, I wanted to make it sound really romantic but plans changed and my lyrics appeared rather simple than hippie like! Love is weird and is much weirder when two individuals are crazy about each other, as much as I wrote it about me, it’s also for other lovebirds around”.
