Montreal Photographer aims to push the narrative of unity in diversity by trying to capture the true essence of inclusivity and diverse culture from all parts of the world. I Moved to Montreal from India as an artist I wanted to explore and expand my limits. Hence I chose Montreal. What I discovered here is that the city in itself plays a character and that every person living here has a story to tell. I have seen so many ethnicities and so much diversity in this small city that I am inspired by every single person living here.
What we wanted to represent through our series is the co-dependence of men in the world of women. Through our androgynous model, we wish to emphasize and denounce the fact of having to behave like a man to be able to coexist as a woman, especially when women’s suffrage was only awarded early 20th century in the majority of countries. We wanted to choose 3 different styles inspired by the period from the 19th century until the end of the 20th century. We want to mark this fight constantly during this period, between claiming its feminine assets and behaving physically like a man to be able to progress socially and economically in society.
