Foggy fairytale is a set that would have needed an enormous preparation. A suitable studio (height and depth), outfit (it is a fairy tale, isn’t it?), props (trees, dust, mist). Instead it is an idea I had the night before the set. Rebecca was available to shoot that Saturday and the idea of using branches to recreate a forest came thanks to an old, amazing Louis Vuitton’s ad campaign, beautifully executed by Mert&Marcus in a big movie theater.
That evening Milan was littered with branches, as long as you go to the park and challenge the local police who patrolled it. With branches in the car and Rebecca on set, we entrust it to the skilled hands of Eleonora, hairstylist and makeup artist and recreate a dense forest of light, fog, and depth. Unfortunately, the studio was very small and it meant moving very little, but the expressiveness of Rebecca has created all the magic that was needed. It’s still one of my favorite sets, especially from a creative point of view. I hope to meet again with this kind of history, this time with the right preparation.
