Nnav Photography has been devoted to the arts of photography with the vision of fashion, design, and glamour. I have dedicated my life to the world of fashion and beauty since I started doing hair and make up for over 10 years. I have a passion with working with local designers to help each other branch out into the world and express our work and imagination. Recently, I have had the privilege to work with designer Phuong Minh Nguyen founder of Dream Dresses by P.M.N. She is a genuine, friendly, and truly gifted talent whose dresses show her passion as a designer.

My recent New Orleans inspired photo shoot has become one of my more recent favorites. After a brief vacation to New Orleans, I was really inspired by the beauty, history, and culture. I immediately began imaging and brain storming ideas that has become the theme. This brought me to the idea of a mascaraed with elegant dresses which became the main focus of what I had imagined.

My vision was to have very subtle and soft, but elegant makeup and hair. Both models that I worked with had the look I had in mind for the theme. Briana Haskell was a very lovely model. She was amazing to work with, moved and posed well. She also had the perfect personality and complexion I needed for the red dress. I have worked with her in the past, and every time was a wonderful experience. For the dress in gold, I decided to work with someone new. Jemie Mansaray turned out to be perfect for this, and she was also very lovely, and looked absolutely stunning in the gold dress. I have worked with Rogé John in the past as well. I worked with him in fashion shows, and he has always been very professional with a great attitude.

Phuong Minh Nguyen and her designer label Dream Dresses by P.M.N. had the perfect gowns I needed for the photo shoot. She specializes in creating custom wedding dresses and couture gowns. Dream Dresses by P.M.N was honored to have been a part of Seattle Fashion week and The Bellevue Collection fashion week. Everything is made by hand, and each gown is one of a kind. Each is unique and designed to match the client’s specific specifications.

I, Nancy Nav, started off in hair design over 10 years ago. During this time, I quickly got involved with fashion make up. I continuously had ideas and visions while doing hair and make up for other photographers, but was never fully fulfilled. I decided to study fashion photography so that I could better capture my own visions and inspirations. Each gown that I chose for each of the models perfectly combined the elements of elegance and youth. They also matched well with the mysteriousness of the mascaraed that went along with my theme.

The location had a perfect mix of dreamy atmospheres and the Jazzy allure of the New Orleans French Quarter. It also had an appearance of elegance and class that really helped put the entire concept together. The globe lights allowed for an appearance of an actual party or Ball which partnered well with the idea of an elegant, white, red and gold accent décor. The gold padded walls gave a perfect 16th century Renaissance like background that tied well with mascaraed theme.

This photo shoot was a total success. Everything perfectly melded together and perfectly showed the beauty and elegance I was hoping for. The models and gowns were stunning, and gave the perfect feel of a New Orleans inspired Mascaraed Ball. I was very proud of doing the hair, make up and photography for this shoot. I can’t wait to continue my passion for photography and fashion for the future.
