Diane J. Myung is a fashion photographer based in NYC. She opened her eye toward fashion starting middle school period, bought several fashion magazines every month and sneaked a look countless times from avoiding her parents. This interest seemed to pause while she studied Journalism but soon she figured out herself that telling stories through visualization was her complete existence, and developed her passion by achieving Master’s degree in Photography. This new adventure brought great opportunity to create stories with an underlying sense of narrative through own viewpoint. Her works have been published online/print magazines and exhibited internationally. She is always excited to meet talented people in this field and put their efforts to make creative images, we call it as ‘Magic.’

The daughter of Nature waiting for winter, the main inspiration behind this fashion editorial is the form of dark, deep and quiet ambience. The privilege of having four seasons is that each season there are tons of different backdrops that photographers can use. As a nature lover, this case, also, was not exceptional. In somehow, it is hard to find quiet and dark area in the city, so, the photo shoot was done at Central Park. However, team wished not showing the typical New York atmosphere, therefore, mostly, we went to the spot with full of rocks, and wooded/ forest areas. Fortunately or not, overall, it was very gloomy and windy afternoon, and the mood of natural light was reflected well to the images.

The selected pieces are from ready-to-wear to luxury clothing brands or from high edge to unique individual. The purpose of this shoot was to draw dark and vibrant but matt ambience in autumn look. The color of garments, backgrounds and makeup really made harmony, all element stick together. For the makeup, we started with light fall palette to smoky as it is easy to touch up and change the look. During the process, Edyta, the super talented model, gave us variety of poses and look by each different style.

The most important of photo shoot is collaboration. It means there is no point if each member would not fully understand the concept. Even though it was the first time that members gathered all together, it was very easy to work. We had conversation a lot and discussed if we could try something new. Even during the process, we went over the images together and talked about which pose or expression is suitable or not. Edyta Wilim, a professional and an agency represented model in London, originally from Poland, Jungle Lin, a wardrobe stylist who selected clothes for this shoot, and Aniika Perkins, a makeup artist who made Edyta looks more stunning. Everyone clearly knew what to do. The passionate and to the highest standard toward their own work, this is how the wonderful images come to the result of the effort by great teamwork.
